CheapAIS Hermes

Hermes is an open-source AI agent built by Nous Research that lives on infrastructure you control. Instead of renting a chat window from a vendor, you get a persistent agent that can read files, run commands, call tools, and carry context and memory across sessions, keeping your data, memory, and configuration entirely on your own server. 

On a CheapAIS AI Agent VPS or dedicated server, Hermes ships pre-installed and ready to configure. Because it runs entirely on your own hardware, prompts, tool results, and agent memory stay private, with no per-token cloud costs and no dependency on a third-party service staying online. Root access and SSH are included, so the agent is a tool you own, not a subscription. 

Hermes is designed to be extended. Add custom tools and workflows, connect it to the channels you use, and integrate it with the rest of your pre-installed bundle (Portainer, Open WebUI) to build a private, always-on assistant tailored to how you and your team work.
